Obituary
Norma Jean Ashby went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2022. Norma was born in North Kansas City, Missouri on November 15, 1933 to Ed Freeman and Hattie Lee Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jack (Butch) Ashby Jr. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ashby, daughter-in-law Jeannette Ashby-Welter, granddaughters Sarah Ashby Keeney (Gregg), Rachel Ashby Sexton (David), and 4 great grandchildren, Ali, Addi, Jack and Theo.
Norma enjoyed a long career at and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass after 30 years working as an administrative assistant and in roofing sales. After retirement her love of flowers and flower gardening led her to Earl May where she enjoyed another 15-year career sharing that love of flowers.
A graveside service will be held on July 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.

We only knew Norma for about 11 years but enjoyed her company each and every time we were together! Her passion for plants and flowers always made for such great conversations since Big Dave (Sexton) shared that interest! She will truly be missed! She’s resting in God’s Loving Arms💜
