Obituary
Nunzio D’Angelo was born November 14, 1930, died August 13, 2024 at the age of 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Born in Bompietro Sicily to Giuseppe (Joe Sr.) and Maria (Barbarotta) D’Angelo.
After he met and married his wife, Vincenza Albanese, they moved to London, England where they lived and worked and where their three children were born. They immigrated to the United States in 1966 and became naturalized citizens in 1976. They made their home in the old northeast area of Kansas City and later moved to the Raytown area.
Nunzio began cutting hair at the age of nine. He worked as a barber until his retirement. His barber shop had several locations in the Kansas City area with the last and longest being at Independence Ave and Olive St.
Nunzio spoke Italian and English Fluently but also spoke some Spanish and French. He loved gardening and seemed as if he could grow almost anything. He also enjoyed classical guitar, Italian Opera, and the time spend living in London. He often told stories of living there and dreamt of returning to London, but above all else he loved his family.
Nunzio is preceded in death by his wife, mother and father, Infant daughter, brother (Joe Jr.). Is survived daughter Maria Cumberford (Chris), and Son Giuseppe (Joe) D’Angelo (Terrie), grand-daughters Lauren, Jenna, and Cara, as well as grandson Nicholas.
