Obituary
Patricia L Walton, age 88, of Blue Springs, Missouri, formally of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born on July 30, 1938 in Boonville, Missouri to Louie and Dorothy (Groom) White. She grew up in Lexington and Independence, Missouri graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Jessie Walton on September 27, 1972.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring friend to many. She cared deeply for the special people in her life.
In her younger years, Pat was known for being a wonderful homemaker and cook, perfecting recipes day by day. On the top of the list, she was an expert pie maker. She put a lot of love into her cooking and it was something she really enjoyed doing for others. She also had a thrill for taking day trips driving miles and miles just to enjoy a nice drive or to go see family and friends. Over the years, she had a passion for shopping and an eye for beautiful items that she treasured over many years. Estate sales being one of her favorites to find many of her items.
Pat had many things that she loved in life, but her greatest blessing was being called “Nanny”. She relished in being a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to her grandchildren. She always made time to go to sporting events or family gatherings, making each visit special and filled with love.
She is survived by her daughter Vicki (Rick) Looney, Harrisonville, Missouri; her son Josh (Crystal) Walton, Blue Springs, Missouri; granddaughters Nikki (George) Ryberg, Creighton, Missouri, Erin Newkirk, Archie, Missouri and grandson Jesse Piercy, Shawnee, Kansas; 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren with 2 more arriving in the coming months. She is also survived by her brothers Don (Sherry) White, Gary (Arliss) White and sister Debbie (David) Bown all of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Jessie Walton, her daughter Kimberly Detmer, her grandsons Jason Piercy and Adam Barnard, her parents Louie and Dorothy White and her sister Shirley Yonker.
She loved life and everyone in it. She never knew a stranger. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her. This is not “good bye” but rather “see you when we get there”.
A service will be held on September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairmount United Methodist Church, located at 2119 Jackson Drive Independence, MO 64057.
