Obituary

Patricia Ann Lunsford, 71, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on January 10, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Patty was born on July 8, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles and ImoJean Brewer. She graduated from Raytown South High School in 1972 and went on to build a successful career in the banking industry that spanned more than 35 years. Patty concluded her professional career as a Vice President and Loan Compliance Officer at a regional bank, where she was widely respected for her dedication, integrity, and leadership.

On February 14, 1983, Patty married the love of her life, Dennis, beginning a partnership that would last more than 40 years. Their marriage was a true testament to commitment, friendship, and unconditional love. Through life’s joys and challenges, Patty and Dennis stood side by side, building a life filled with laughter, mutual respect, and unwavering devotion to one another.

Together, Patty and Dennis raised two beautiful daughters, Jaime and Jennifer, who were the pride and joy of Patty’s life. Above all else, Patty’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She cherished watching her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter grow and thrive. She was a devoted mother who raised her daughters with unwavering love, strength, and guidance, teaching them kindness, resilience, and the importance of family. Through every challenge and triumph, she stood as their greatest supporter, role model, and source of comfort.

Patty loved cheering on her husband and grandsons at baseball games and spent many happy summers at the lake or relaxing by her pool, creating memories with those she loved most. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Nana” and will always be remembered for her warm hugs, gentle spirit, and unconditional love.

Patty is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Lunsford; her brother, Ron Brewer; her daughters, Jennifer Brown (George) and Jaime Fricke (Jason); her grandchildren, Kelsey DeMarco (Zach), Karson Fricke (Sydney), Kenzie Fricke, Justin Brown and Charlie Brown; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Drew DeMarco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and ImoJean Brewer, and her siblings, Jerry Brewer, Kelly Brewer, and Gloria Brewer.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at the Gamber Community Center, located at 4 SE Independence Ave, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Patricia’s honor to the
Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute – Neuro-Oncology Cancer Research Fund.
