Paula Diane North

Obituary

Paula Diane North passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Paula was born October 1, 1939, in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of Paul Pachlhofer and Leola Mae Snider (McWilliams).  She grew up in Shawnee Mission, KS, married Lawrence E. North in 1961, and eventually settled in Lee’s Summit.  Paula worked as a medical technologist at two Lee’s Summit clinics and was active as a Girl Scout leader early on. Later, she was employed at Longview Gardens Nurseries.  She enjoyed supporting the arts and conservation efforts, reading, camping, and birding.  Paula is survived by two daughters, Marcy North (John Fulton) and Michelle Brown (Mark Brown), three grandsons, Corey Brown, Nolan Brown, and Robert Fulton, and three great grandsons.  In lieu of flowers and a service, donations can be made to Burr Oak Woods Nature Center via this website, Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation.  In the spring, a commemorative bench with Paula’s name will be placed at the hoofed animal enclosure in Fleming Park, near Missouri Town, for all to enjoy.

Donors should be sure to designate Burr Oak Woods as the recipient (there is a drop-down menu in the designation section) or the donation will go to the general fund.
