Obituary

Richard Thomas “Bull” Dyke, 56, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on December 11, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Iona and Gary Dyke. Richard was an outgoing and lighthearted individual who loved to make others laugh. He had a generous spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family. Richard found joy in the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, riding horses, or attending rodeos. He also enjoyed card games like 31 and rummy, although it was best not to sit next to him at the table. Richard’s vibrant personality and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We will keep your hat clean and your truck runnin’, blaze us a trail to ride up there cowboy.

Richard is survived by his mothers, Sharon Scarcello and Connie Dyke; his sons, Kody Dyke and Austin Dyke; his brother, Daniel Shawn Lane; his uncle, William (Bill) Dyke; his aunt, Sheila McClendon; and his cousins, Wendy Reed, Holly Cardwell, and Lori Kriesel. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Gene Dyke; his biological mother, Iona Dyke; and his sister, Rochelle Dyke.

Professionally, Richard worked as a carpenter and floor installer for Children’s Mercy Hospital. He took pride in his work and made a positive impact on the lives of others through his dedication and skills.
