Obituary

Robert Dale Roedel, 65, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on October 12, 2025 at his home.

Robert was born on September 27, 1960 in Boonville, Missouri to Ernie and Charlene Roedel.  He grew up in Lee’s Summit and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School.  He completed his Associates’ degree at Longview Community College.

Robert married Sylvia Lee of Harrisonville, Missouri on June 25, 1983 in Lee’s Summit.  Together they shared 42 years of love and partnership.  He worked as a technician at a few companies, with the last nineteen years of his career at FedEx Ground as a maintenance technician.

Outside of work Robert enjoyed tinkering/working on lawn mowers, watching TV, Star Trek and cooking shows were some favorites.  He really enjoyed cooking and grilling and had mastered smoking a variety of meats. He and Sylvia did get to take a few short motorcycle rides together. Robert really enjoyed going to the family lake house at Truman Lake.

Robert will be remembered for his kindness and generosity; his dry and sometimes quirky sense of humor; and for the love he gave to his family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Charlene and Ernie; brothers John and Roger; stepmother Doris, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.  He is survived by his wife Sylvia; sons Nic and Robbie (Davina); grandchildren Maquilla, Isabella, Parker, Preston, Genisis, Ethan and Ian.  Robert is also survived by his siblings Cheri, Bill and Joyce.

A visitation will be held on Sunday October 19, 2025 at Langsford Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:30 p.m.
