Obituary

Robert E. Dunn, known affectionately as Bob, passed away on January 20, 2024, in Lee’s Summit, MO, at the age of 89. He was born on November 11, 1934, in Guthrie, MO. Bob was a beloved husband, father of 5, grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 11 and great-great grandfather of 4.

Bob had an outgoing personality and was always ready to engage in a conversation with anyone. He had a warm smile that could light up a room. Bob cherished spending time with his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Key), after their marriage they moved to Lake Lotawana, MO where they resided for 45 years and spent time with his children, Candace Calderon, Darlene Dunn, Larry Dunn and wife Angie, Russell Dunn and wife Shannon, and Michael Dunn and wife Krista. Along with all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In his youth, Bob attended Central High School. After graduating, he began his career at Armco Steel, where he dedicated 32 years of his life. Following his retirement, Bob utilized his expertise by consulting Bibb & Associates and Custom Truck. Additionally, he worked part-time at Target in Lee’s Summit, MO for 12 years.

Bob had a passion for various hobbies. He was an active member of the McDonald 324 Masonic Lodge in Independence, MO for 62 years, where he achieved the 3rd degree. He had a strong passion for bowling. He was also involved as a Boy Scout Leader and a baseball coach, positively impacting the lives of many young individuals.

Services for Bob will be held at Langsford Funeral Home on Friday January 26th, visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held at Floral Hills East. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Masonic Home of Missouri or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, organizations that were close to Bob’s heart.

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warm presence and generous spirit will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.
