Obituary
Roberta J. Newell, age 98, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was born on March 1, 1927, to Robert and Leota Canada.
Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert Newell; her parents; her brother, Gerald Canada; and her sister, Carolyn Kennedy, and niece Vicki Stines.
She is survived by her great-niece Suzanne Sherron (Justin); nephew Larry Allen (Barb); niece Peg Henritz; and her devoted friend Jimmie Foreman. Roberta will be remembered with love and appreciation by all who knew her for her kindness, quiet strength, and enduring spirit.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at VFW Post 5789 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the VFW in Roberta’s memory.

Roberta was one of the sweetest women I have ever met. The love she and Bob shared was always an inspiration. She will be missed by many of her friends in the VFW Auxiliary.
