Obituary

Russell C. Nickell, 63 of Independence, Mo passed away on September 17, 2020 at his home. Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church 10800 Lexington Road, #1119, Independence, Mo. 64058 Visitation will be at 10:00 am with service following at 11:00 am.

Russell was born on July 29, 1957 in Kansas City, Mo. To Clyde and Mary Nickell. He Graduated from Truman High School in 1976. He retired from Cisco Tool to follow his dream of Grooming Dogs at Dogs Day Out. He enjoyed showing his dogs and hunting with Greta and Murphy at Dog Trials. He enjoyed Scouting, he was an Eagle Scout as well a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, his rank was Keeper of the Wampum. His tribal name was “Keeper of the Wampum, Least Swift Moving Water” He worked on staff at H. Roe Bartle and Camp Naish

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary.

Survivors include his wife Geri of the home, Aunt Nick of Marshfield, Mo.,  Sons Vinnie Nickell of Greenfield, Mo and Andrew Naught of Independence, Mo. 1 brother Steve (Susan) Nickell of Kansas City, Mo. Nieces and Nephews Kendra, Megan, Paul and Jillian, and his beloved pets Greta, Oz and Keeper as well as many cousins and friends.
