Obituary

Sharon Ann Perkins passed away quietly in her home in Lee’s Summit MO, January 16, 2023, surrounded by her daughters and husband. She was born February 9, 1943 to Harold and Ivy Summers, and was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Bill and Jack, and her three sisters, Virginia, Lois, and Mary Martha.

Sharon graduated from Saint Anthony’s School of Nursing (Hays,KS) in 1964 and worked as a registered nurse in various hospitals over the years. She was an intelligent, cheerful bundle of energy, and her compassion was only exceeded by her kindness. Sharon was an avid reader and international traveler, having visited Rome, Athens, Paris and London, among other destinations. She volunteered her time fostering and bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, an effort which brought her great joy. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family with all her heart. She is sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life will take place in her home Saturday, February 11, from 2:00 to 5:00.  As Sharon was an avid animal lover, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name to local animal shelters would be most appropriate.
