Obituary
Stacia Anne (Stacy) Christie, 56, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on March 12th.
Stacia was born on March 3, 1970 in Kansas City, MO to William “Gene” Wood & Linda Wood. She grew up on Lake Lotawana where she loved swimming, sailing and water skiing. After marriage, she relocated to Overland Park which she called home until her passing.
Stacia’s time spent as a Special Education / Paraeducator at Harmony Elementary School in Overland Park was a great source of pride as she helped countless students during her tenure. She then took on the role as primary caregiver for her parents as their health declined.
Her compassion, kindness, sense of humor and bright smile were her trademarks and her entire life was dedicated to caring for others. Stacia was born to be a mother and her greatest legacy will be her daughters Lauren & Gracie Mae, who have inherited all of her best traits. She was also a world-class aunt, sister, friend and wife.
Stacia’s world revolved around family and any chance she had was spent with them (preferably around water, with the sun on her face, wind in her hair – and if at all possible her toes in the sand).
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Steve Christie, daughters Lauren & Gracie Mae, siblings Brad Wood, Gina Guilfoil & Nick Wood and their spouses, as well as her cherished nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 27th.

McBride-Holding Family
My sincerest condolences to your family and friends for the loss of someone so special, may God lift up your heavy hearts.
And a thank you to my best friend Brad who has kept me up to date and shared many prayers; and this also brought in many others in prayer who never had the privilege of meeting Stacy (sweetly nicknamed “Tater” as a youngster) through prayer circles here in California and across the states.
God Bless you all Christie and Wood families.
Our deepest condolences to Steve, Lauren, and Gracie Mae. As long time neighbors from years ago, I remember fondly what a beautiful smile and great laugh Stacia had. I know she will be missed deeply. Praying that fond memories of Stacia will bring you comfort in the days ahead.
