Obituary

Stan Smith, 85, passed away at Saint Luke’s Hospice peacefully following a brief illness.

Stan was born in Maryville, Missouri and was Executive Vice President of Stadium Bank for 28 years. He was a US Navy veteran.

He was married to Patricia (Russell) Smith for 25 years and was very close to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After he retired, Stan and Pat moved to Goodyear, Arizona for 22 years. They recently moved back to Lee’s Summit to be close to family.

Because he was an only child and had no children of his own, his friends were his family for many years.

Stan was an avid golfer, he had 12 hole-in-ones. When he sank long putt he would yell “Hot Coffee.” That was his nick name chosen by many.

Stan will be missed by many. He was a fun guy who enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest to the end. We will miss you Hot Coffee!

Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. July 14, 2026, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri.

Reception July 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Lakewood Oaks Country Club, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers a donation in his name may be made to Saint Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.
