Obituary

Suzie Byrne, 65, of Greenwood, Missouri went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2021, with her family by her side.

Suzie was born February 10, 1956 in Seattle, Washington to Robert and Lois Waight. Suzie lived most of her childhood in southern Missouri, eventually moving to Lee’s Summit in 1972, where she graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1974. She married the love of her life, Roger on April 21, 1979. Shortly thereafter they built their first home and started their family. Sarah Colleen was born on August 18,1981 followed by Kaila Suzanne on September 28, 1985. Suzie was a very talented artist and used her gift to paint various crafts for home decor. Her most rewarding job was being a loving wife and raising her daughters. She was their biggest cheerleader, never missing an event. Suzie loved the Lord. She was a member of Lee’s Summit Bible Church and Strasburg Baptist Church where she was involved in women’s ministry and other church activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law Neil (Jeanne) Waight.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger Byrne. Her daughters; Sarah Hook and her husband Jared; Kaila Fix and her husband Lucas. Her six grandchildren: Trayton, Tayvia and Tailynn Hook; Easton, Gavin and Bryson Fix. Her brother Bob (Sandy) Waight and sister Patti (Greg) Brattin.

Services for Suzie will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The visitation will be from 9 to 11:00 am. The funeral will immediately follow at 11:00. Burial services will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery

We are so sorry to hear about Suzie’s passing, but are confident that she is resting in the arms of Jesus – her Savior. We loved knowing her for so many years, and have missed seeing her at Fellowship Church with Patti since COVID hit. She was a light to all who were blessed to know her. Richard & Cathie Santa

Lots of memories of Suzie from the time she was born to recently…always a beautiful person. There are no words to say how much she will be missed and even to try to fill the void in your hearts.

My condolences to Susie’s family. I only met her once but felt like I had known her forever. I know her suffering was extreme. Thank you Jesus for taking Susie home where she is pain free.

I am so sorry for the loss of suzie. She was such a sweet soul. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
