Thomas Lee McKittrick

Thomas “Tom” Lee McKittrick, 86, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on June 16, 2018 at his home. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lee’s Summit Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Tom was born on February 24, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the Armed Forces, serving in the Air Force. That is where he met Alice J. Lanter, through his life long best friend Norman Lanter. He married Alice on April 4, 1953 and they had 6 children. He started his business career working for the IRS. While working there, he graduated from Rockhurst College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked for several years for Arthur Anderson Company, eventually leaving them, taking some of their staff and clients and started his own firm. He ran this firm successfully until he retired. He enjoyed 20+ years of retirement before passing peacefully..

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred L. & Rose A. McKittrick; his wife, Alice J. McKittrick; his son, Bruce McKittrick; and his sister, June Carol McKittrick.

He is survived by his daughters, Laura K. McKittrick and Linda Kling; and sons, Thomas L. McKittrick, II, Brian K. McKittrick, and Patrick S. McKittrick. He’s also survived by 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; plus several step relatives.
