Obituary
Vickie Louise (Arndt) Westpfahl, 64, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Shangri-la Rehab & Living Center in Blue Springs, Missouri surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 9, 1957 in Independence, Missouri, to Emmet and Dorothy Ilene (Smith) Arndt.
Vickie enjoyed a variety of employment opportunities including caring for others in living centers and driving a bus for Head Start children. At the age of 45, she suffered a stroke that changed her physical ability, but never her spirit. Vickie approached each day with a joyful attitude and a loving heart for each person she encountered. She received tremendous, loving care from her Shangri-la extended family, even though she was a “Hot Mess” girl.
Vickie is survived by her mother Ilene Arndt, daughter Mandy Nance (Justin), grandchildren Hailey Coulson and Dylan Nance, siblings Donna Blackburn (Tom), Carol Embree (Bob), David Arndt, and husband Gary Westpfahl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her father Emmet, and niece Megan.
The family will hold a graveside service on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life gathering of friends and family at Legacy Christian Church.

We were deeply saddened to hear about your daughter Vicky’s passing. From reading her obit one could tell she was an extraordinary person with a definite purpose in life.
Jennie is very blessed to have you watch over her while in the care of John Knox. We live across the culdisaque from Jennies home at the Fountains and watched you come and go to check on her there. You have already earned your place in Heaven .
Prayers for peace and comfort,
Ron and Georgia Rodgers
