Obituary

Virginia Faye  (Walker) McGee, 92, of Raytown, MO, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Blue Springs, MO surrounded by family.

Virginia was born on September 9, 1931 to Sidney and Bertha Walker in Kansas City, MO. After graduating from Lee’s Summit High School, she entered the workforce working for a local dentist.

Virginia and her former spouse, Thomas S. Wilson, had 3 children together who they adored. Upon having her children, Virginia stayed home, focusing on caring for them and her home. While both Virginia and Thomas went on to remarry, they remained in touch throughout their lives.

In 1965, she rejoined the workforce in publishing at Unity World Headquarters. Virginia remained at Unity World Headquarters until her retirement in 1993.

In 1980, she met her future husband, Ronel (Ron), and they wed in 1982.  After retiring, Ron and Virginia spent their time traveling, laughing, antiquing, hosting friends and family, vacationing with grandchildren, and just enjoying one another’s company. Virginia was also a talented artist and seamstress spending time creating paintings and quilts for her loved ones and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by  her husband, Ronel; parents; brother, William Walker. She is survived by children Thomas Wilson (Laura), Robert Wilson (Drusilla), Deborah Wilson; stepchildren Ronel Jr. (Vicki), Donald (Cynthia), Wilma (Craig); grandchildren Melissa Romero (Rick), Cassie Webster (Briggs), Bryan Kemnitzer (Kim), Samuel Wilson, Kyle Wilson; niece, Amy Walker; and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 1:00pm. Service to follow visitation at 2:00pm. Internment at Lee’s Summit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to nationalparks.org.
