Obituary
Warren Henry Thomas of Lee’s Summit, Mo., 79, passed away July 18, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Warren was born on February 10, 1945, in Kansas City to Warren and Thressa Thomas. He went on to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla earning his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and later became an Engineer/Sales Specialist at Marley Cooling Towers. During his tenure at Marley he attended Baker University earning his Masters of Science Management degree. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
But more than anything, Warren was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, sharing stories, and attending grandchildren’s sporting events. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In his free time, Warren enjoyed building elaborate train tables, and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community, volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America. Warren was an Eagle Scout and shared his passion for scouting with his son and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Warren, and his brother Douglas.
Warren is survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Nicole Day (Ron) of Lee’s Summit, daughter Rachel Jackson (Tony) of Lee’s Summit, daughter-in-law Sarah Thomas of Lee’s Summit, his 5 grandchildren (Taryn, Brooke, Danielle, Warren, and Emma) sister Patricia Garner of Orrick, and sister Bonnie Harmon of Richmond.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 25th from 10 am – 11 am at the Langsford Funeral home in Lee’s Summit and funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30. The burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery immediately following the service.

Paul and I are very saddened and sorry to hear of Warren Henry’s death. Warren was a very kind and wonderful friend as was your mother Virginia. Warren was best man in our wedding and Virginia my Matron of Honor.
