November 9, 1949 - February 21, 2020

Obituary

Bill, age 70, passed away peacefully while vacationing in Florida and entered into the Kingdom of God on 2/21/2020.

He was born on November 9, 1949 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Herbert Dale and Marie Beckley. He is survived by the love of his life, Julia Marie Gagliano, they wed on July 12, 1969 and happily enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. He was blessed with three children and their spouses:Christopher (Jocelyn) Beckley, William Scott (April) Beckley and Gina (Michael) Seagreaves. His heart was full when his grandchildren: Jack, Connor, Brandon, Eliza, Alexander, Lucas and Lauren called him Papa. He will truly be missed by all of them. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Smith; and brother-in-law, Benjamin Gagliano. He is also survived by his brothers, Clark (Brenda) Beckley, Herb Beckley; sisters, Carol (Pat) Uman and Judy Smith; step sisters, Linda (Richard) Scott, Glenda Watts, Mona (Gary) Chaw, Alice (Randy) Gowler; step brother, Glen Gerred and many nieces/nephews for whom he loved dearly. Also, by many loving cousins, friends and co-workers who he greatly enjoyed spending time with.

Bill was a resident of Lee’s Summit, Missouri for 26 years. He proudly served as a sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He started his career in the power generation industry as a millwright for Local 1529. Then moved onto Westinghouse/Regenco/Siemens where he achieved the title of Principal Engineer and enjoyed many years and friendships created there. In 2004 he started his own consulting company, Bill Beckley Outage Consulting Services, L.L.C from which he retired in 2014.

Bill celebrated his life with his family and friends by making memories that count. It may have been on a cruise with his love, the golf course with friends, a trip to the casino with family, a dip in the pool, one of the many wonderful vacations he experienced or at home with those he loved most; wherever it was, he was happy and so were those around him. He was loved and will be truly missed yet has left a lasting legacy with the hearts of those he touched.

We will miss Bill. He was one of a kind and ALWAYS fun to be around. Julia and Bill always a pair and always good times when we were together. (cousins are special) I am shocked and saddened he left too soon. Our love and prayers are with you all. Love, Johniann and Jim.

When Aunt Audrey married Dale he brought into the family some wonderful sons–Bill being one of them. What a blessing for the family to know someone so fine as Bill.
