Obituary

Wilma Louis Warner, 93, of Lee’s Summit, MO went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2023. Wilma was born February 14, 1930, in Knob Noster, MO. She graduated from Knob Noster High School in 1947 and moved to the Kansas City area where she met and married Stanley Jerome Warner in 1953. He was employed by Southwestern Bell/AT&T.  Stan and Wilma were charter members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, and they served the Lord and their church family there for many years.

Over the years, while raising a family, Wilma worked at The Gas Service Company, Margie’s Sample Shop, and Greenwillow Farm Antiques.  Wilma was born and raised on a farm and continued country life with her husband and sons outside of Greenwood, MO. Her gardening, canning, and cooking skills served her family well. Wilma attended and enjoyed her son’s and grandchildren’s athletic and theatrical events. She was an avid sports’ fan, but especially enjoyed NCAA basketball.

Wilma is survived by three sons: Scott, Kent, and Ross. Two daughters-in-law, Donna and Mary. Five grandchildren: Jeff, Josh, Matthew (Zanna), Marie, and Luke (Bryanna). Six great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Jack, Emery, Caroline, Chase and Cade. Wilma was dearly loved and will be sincerely missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, September 15th, from 5-7:00pm, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 350 MO-150 Highway, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the church. Burial to follow in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

Your Mother was such a lovely lady. She will be missed by everyone in the Cedar Creek Village HOA. Our sincere condolences.

Your sweet mom was my “back door” neighbor. We visited on occasion and she laughed at my puppy’s antics. She was a lovely lady and she will be missed. My condolences to your family.

Dear Kent and Mary,

Joe and I want to let you know you are being prayed for and we love you both. We hope to get together with you soon.

Melody Balentine

I am so sad for your families loss. I unfortunately didn’t get to know Wilma personally in the Cedar Creek community. It appears that she had a very active and lovely life with a close family. We can all look forward to seeing her in her heavenly home.
