Obituary

Zina Mae Ream, age 94 of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, died Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Halcyon House in Washington.

Interment will take place at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter in memory of Zina. 

Zina was born December 12, 1927, in Saltburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Alvin and Elizabeth (Klingasmith) Sherle. She attended school in Pennsylvania and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1945. Zina was united in marriage to Dwaine Leonard Ream on October 11, 1946.

Zina had lived in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, following Dwaine’s retirement and she has lived in Washington, Iowa, since May of 2021. Zina loved animals, especially her grand dog, Riley.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Wehr and husband Gary of Washington, Iowa; granddaughter, and Kimberly Howe and husband Aric of Raymore, Missouri.

Zina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwaine in 2017; an infant son and an infant daughter; and three siblings, Pearl, Pauline and George.
