Audrey Helen Bockelman Berger, of Kansas City, Missouri, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, November 8, 2019. Audrey was born in Nashville, Kansas, to Heinrich Christopher Eduard Bockelmann and Helena Julia Suhler Bockelmann on August 12, 1925.
She lived with her family in Kansas City, Missouri, and worked in the family business, the 4 Acre Motel. Later, she moved to the Hickman Mills area and took a position as a secretary at Western Electric. She and her husband, Bob Berger, moved to acreage in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, where they spent most of their retirement before moving to the Villas at Teetering Rock in Kansas City, Missouri.
Audrey is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Robert Berger and her sister, Alta Carstens. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Arnsmeyer of Roach, Missouri, and Susan Pierson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; as well as five grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Audrey’s life was centered in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She exemplified love and faith in her everyday life. She was nurturing, loving, accepting, and always available for her family.
A verse that she liked to include in her daily devotions was Psalm 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”
Services are being held at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 S.W. 3rd St., Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Audrey’s name to Eleos Ministries, 3401 Independence Ave, Kansas City, MO 64124.
