Obituary

Barry Lynn Clevenger, 60, of Columbia, TN went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2018. Visitation with his family will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit, MO, from 11-1pm. A Service of Faith and Remembrance will follow at 1pm, with Rev. Hubert Neth officiating. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Russell Rescue, Inc, 1412 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.

Barry leaves behind his beloved parents, Juel and Jackie Clevenger, Lee’s Summit, MO; wife, Lori Clevenger, Columbia, TN; daughter, Megan (Tim) Buss, Colorado Springs, CO; son, Clayton (Shanyn) Clevenger, Lee’s Summit, MO; step-son, Chad (Brenda) Pearson, Russell Springs, KY; and step-daughter, Keri (Randy) Kaune, Parker, CO. He was a loving grandfather to Atreya, Cambria, and Benji Buss, and Laekyn Clevenger. Barry also leaves two brothers, Stephen (Pattie) Clevenger, Ethridge, TN and Clark Clevenger, Dacula, GA.

Barry was employed by Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN, just a short drive from home where he found an immeasurable zest for life, riding his tractor, digging ponds, raising chickens and ducks, serenading Lori as he strummed his red guitar, cooking “surprise “ meals, baking his delicious cinnamon rolls—creating the memories we have been remembering with smiles and tears. He loved everyone and in turn was loved by all.

His family feels blessed to have had this man as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Our lives have been enriched by his presence; one filled with laughter and heartache—and always, love.

My dear Clark, so sorry to hear about your brother. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

We had the pleasure of working with Barry for the last few years here at Maury Regional. He was such a bright tender soul. I know he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. God Bless. Jerry

We will miss you Barry and your quiet way through this world. May peace prevail. Love, Jan

We are sorry to learn of Barrys death. Many years we were friend and neighbors of Jackie and Juel—our kids knew their kids, and our son Marc and Barry knew each other and were friends.

Please know that you are being lifted up in many prayers. May you feel the comfort that comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Lori, we were very saddened to learn of Barry’s passing. He is surely in a better place and at peace now in Jesus’s presence. May God bring you and your family comfort and grace during this difficult time. Love, Mike and Susie
