Obituary
Betty Jean (Logan) Downing, 86, currently of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 5, 2022.
Betty was born on February 16, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late Jean L (Monteith) and Thomas Gaylord Logan. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Jean and Warren Goodwin.
Betty was a graduate of Central High School class of 1954 in Flint, Michigan.
Betty retired from Ohio Bell/AT&T after 38 years of service and was also a proud member of the Communications Workers of America Union Local 4310. As well as the Pioneers of America.
Over her long lifetime, Betty played the violin and piano. She loved to sing and dance and she was in a choir and she also especially loved ceramics and painting. Betty loved her family and her many dogs and cats over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents and life partner of over 50 years, Jean Stover.
She is survived by her children Colleen Downing of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Camille (Michael) Toynton of Blue Springs, her grandchildren children Sean (Elle) Leonard, David O’Brien and Ben O’Brien, and her great grandchildren Hannah Beck and Beckett and Everly Leonard.
Visitation and services are to be held at Langsford Funeral Home on Thursday September 8, 2022 visitation 6pm service at 7pm. Graveside service and burial will be at Forest Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at 11am. Friends and family are welcome to attend either service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America at dementiasociety.org or the Alzheimer’s Association.
