In Memory of

Christopher “Chris” Broderick

August 9, 1952 - July 7, 2022

Obituary

Christopher Broderick was born on August 9th 1952 in Carlsbad, NM. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Center High School in 1970, and completed his Bachelor of Arts in graphic design from University of Missouri-KC in 1984. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer for UMKC School of Medicine and finished his career at Royal Bank of Canada in 2008

He met his wife of 41 years, Denice Leonard Broderick, and they married on April 25, 1981. Four years later, in December of 1985, he became father to Lauren Rachelle, and in January of 1989 he welcomed a son, Samuel Christopher. They all have resided in Lee’s Summit, MO for the last 32 years.

They welcomed their daughter-in-law, Megan Nicole Stantruff, in October of 2019.  In January of this year, Chris became the proud grandpa of Jonathon Christopher, his namesake. Chris was an adamant news junky with a sharp wit and a wicked sense of humor. He was fiercely devoted to his family and friends. To know Chris was to love him. There will never be enough words. His presence looms large in those he left behind.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Laura Broderick, as well as his brother, Michael Broderick Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Denice (Dee), daughter Lauren, his son Sam (and his family, Megan and Jonathon), his sister Ki, brother Ross, and many cousins, nieces and a nephew.

Lastly, he is also survived by his beloved canine rescued compadre, Auggie!

Dee & Family,
So very sad to hear of Chris’ passing. The past month+ must have been so traumatic for all of you. I know Chris left a huge hole in your lives, and that you can never replace his happy and boisterous spirit. Please know that you are in my heart and prayers. I’m sorry that I can’t be at the memorial, but you’ll be on my mind. Love to you all.

Dee and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Chis’ passing. Though I did not have the opportunity to meet him, hearing Dee always speak so highly and with so much love and admiration for him warmed my heart. May your many fond memories and the love you shared carry you through. Sending healing thoughts from our family to yours.

Dee and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I really didn’t get a chance to visit with Chris much while he was here at Kindred. I did however get to visit with Dee. I could tell by the way she was here on a daily basis and talked about her husband she loved him so much. and i know that he felt the same way. I know the choices that had to made at the end were the hardest you will ever have to make. but know in your heart that you did what he would have wanted. I love the story you told about going on that day and washing and cleaning your car, because you knew that he would have been upset with you. Just keep his memories alive. i will have all of you in my prayers.
