Obituary
Courageous Mother & Dedicated Wife, Connie Wendleton’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. Connie passed away on Monday, August 15th, 2022 at the age of 62 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest with humor and kindness.
Connie Christine Davidson was born on May 4th, 1960 to her parents Doyle & Orma Davidson in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from William Chrisman Highschool in 1978, and met her beloved husband of 43 years Eddie Wendleton shortly after. She was a mother of two children James & Laura. Throughout her life she was driven and hardworking, putting in countless hours with Walmart, Toys R Us and Lee’s Summit Hospital. She celebrated her 27th anniversary this year with Lee’s Summit Medical Center. She has been honored numerous times as employee of the month and year. Her impact on everyone she encountered truly showed what made Connie the person she was. Her challenges early in life she was able to overcome and Eddie opened the door for her to truly know what love was.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Connie. The daily General Hospital episodes with my dad. The many adventures to Branson and the trips with the RV. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her humor & laughter was contagious to everyone she met.
Connie is survived by her husband, Eddie; a son, James; a daughter, Laura; three granddaughters; Cheyanne, Sophia & Maddi; son in laws Bryan Barton-Wendleton & Jon Jones; Her fur babies Bella & Benji and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Doyle & Orma Davidson; Paternal grandparents Doyle & Grace Davidson; Maternal grandparents Clifford & Ruth Scogin.
Services will be Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5pm-6pm with the service following. A Go Fund Me has been set up to help Eddie with final expenses and any remaining will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Connie’s honor.

Eddie I am so very sorry to hear about Connie’s passing. Hugs and prayers to you. She was a very special woman 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️💔💔
I am honored to have met Connie & Eddie Wendlenton about 7 years ago. I was introduced to her by her son James. She was quiet at first but as soon she felt comfortable she opened up and made everyone that was around her laugh and have a wonderful time. I got to share many wonderful memories, meals, parties, holidays, birthdays, and who can forget May 4!
I get to know Connie inside and out, she always enjoyed sharing her past memories and the good ones and the bad ones too. I can say she was my friend and I even consider her part of my family too. We had quality time together while I cut and colored her hair. She was so comfortable to talk about anything and everything and we always laugh about what we talked about.
I am saying good bye for now but one day I will see you again. I love you Connie!

Connie touched so many lives. It was an honor to know her. Prayers to all grieving her loss. ❤️🙏
I worked at Lees Summit Hospital for 12 years, and saw Connie often multiple times a day. I remember her as the nicest, kindest person at the hospital. She tried to be kind and helpful to everyone. Her job was one of the hardest in the hospital, and often thankless, since it was dietary. I was thinking of her the other day, wondering how life had treated her and Eddie. Because they always treated everyone so well, and always had a smile for everyone. Often if I was having a stressful day, just one of those smiles helped with the stress. I only saw her really angry one time, and it was over another employee, everyone in the hospital hated to deal with. This person didnt help anyone, never went the extra mile, and was nasty to everyone. I think only Connie could have worked with her, and even with sweet Connie, that lady took a toll. Connie, you were a heroine to me. I never told you that. I wouldnt have thought it was the correct thing to do, at that time. It was what I should have done, and I hope Eddie and your family know that you meant so much to so many whose lives you touched. You were and always will be a beautiful soul. Heaven is a better place with you there.
Eddie, Laura and James
