So sorry for your loss, Chris. It sounds like he live a really good life. Congrats on the 65 years of marriage. May God comfort you during this time.
Sorry for your loss which I learned of in the Star obituaries. I believe we may be related – my father is Jesse Ray Quarles from Chatsworth, Georgia, about 20 years older than Donald David Quarles, moved to Sioux City, Iowa at age 24. Jesse Ray Quarles was son of Arvil Quarles (who had 9 brothers) who lived for many years in Georgia and Tennessee. One of Arvil’s brothers (Johnny Quarles) had a farm in Chatsworth, GA, as did his father. I don’t know the names of Arvil’s brothers, we only have a picture of 4 brothers, and my grandfather was the one in the wheelchair, but am thinking Donald David Quarles may be the son of one of those brothers and thus my Dad’s cousin. Contact above if you would like to help me update our genealogy. Again, sorry for your loss, and that I never got to meet your loved one. Sue Quarles Porter
