Obituary
Frank Aloysious Dillenkoffer, Jr. 80, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on May 6, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Reception will follow the service from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Emaline Ballroom, 635 SW 2ND St. Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. Inurnment at a later date will be in the Lake Lawn Park Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana. Frank was born on October 31, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Frank A. Sr. & Leah Lucille (Chase) Dillenkoffer. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 – 1959. He graduated from Park College in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in public administration. He was employed with the National Weather Service from 1959 – 1993, Kansas City Police Department from 1995 – 1999, and as Kansas City Police Department’s Auxillary Service Officer from 2007 – 2013.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Gayle (Barrosse) Dillenkoffer; his parents; and a sister, Lucille Charlotte Bannister. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Hoops (Brian) of Raytown, MO and Gretchen Hadden of Kansas City, MO; his son, Eric Dillenkoffer (Nicol) of Kansas City, MO; granddaughters, Denise Berger of Kansas City, MO and Molly Dillenkoffer of Kansas City, MO; and great granddaughter, Amaya Adams of Kansas City, MO.
The family would like to thank the devoted and caring staff at St. Luke’s Hospice House for their care and comfort during Dad’s final hours.
