Obituary

George William Willis Jr, Age 62, passed away February 13, 2019 at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri from an apparent heart attack. Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Langsford Funeral Home followed by service at 2:00 pm and burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation and the American Red Cross.
Mr. Willis was born December 26, 1956 in Atchison, Kansas. He lived in south Kansas City and attended Hickman Mills High School and Longview Community College. He worked as a store clerk for local Safeway stores for many years, and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 10 during his employment as a laborer setting bridge decks and constructing buildings. He was a mail clerk for Farmland Industries and worked in shipping/receiving for Sprint. Mr. Willis was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He also loved watching WWE Wrestling, The Three Stooges, and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.
He met his best friend and love of his life, Mary Loehr, whom he married and lived with for over 38 years. They shared a home in Lee’s Summit with their five children.
Mr. Willis is preceded in death by his father George William Willis Sr. and mother Marlene Gay Willis. He is survived by his wife, Mary Loehr of the home, children Kathryn, James, Michelle and Jennifer Willis of Lee’s Summit, George Willis III of Independence, and granddaughter Harmony Miller of Lee’s Summit.

Dearest Mary and family. I was so sorry to hear of your beloved Bill’s passing. I remember you guys moving into your first apartment and then the first house and all the trees Bill grew in the back yard. He always was so pleasant and had a great sense of humor followed by a big grin. Seems he was always working on fixing his cars and taking care of his yard…I know who loved you Mary and all his kids and got to see his first granchild.
