Obituary

Gerald Crispin, 52, passed away November 4th, 2019 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  God welcomed him home to join the greatest choir of all, singing praises to his King for all eternity.

Gerald was a devoted member of Evangel Church in Kansas City for nearly 16 years, where he was a model of service in nearly every aspect of the church, including Choir, Harvesters Outreach, 2 Men’s bible study groups, Kid’s Church and hospitality.  He loved to make others laugh and was such a joy to be around.  His fun-loving personality and quick wit made him loved by many.  He enjoyed a great cup of coffee, lots of sugar, lots of creamer…or maybe a dollop or two of ice cream.   He loved watching his Chiefs football, usually sprawled out on the floor on his favorite pillow, beside his much-loved black Lab, Baker.  His favorite pass-times included watching sports, eating popcorn, taking naps and enjoying family time.  He loved going on dates with his wife and taking his two sons out for one-on-one time.  He loved God and his family above all.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie, two sons, Matthew and Jonathan, sister, Dr. Shauna Acker of Colorado, Brother, Matt Crispin of Colorado, Brother and Sister-in-law, Jeremy and Sheila Haines of Lee’s Summit, Parents, Jerry and Vera Crispin of Colorado and Masami and Eunice Willis of Kansas City, and several much beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 8th, from 6:00-8:00 PM.  The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 PM.  Both services will be at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.

Dear Pam,
I am so very sorry for your loss. May you be comforted by the Holy Spirit and a host of Angels. My prayers for you and family at this time..love and blessing, Grace

The Cokingtin & Allison families will miss Gerald at our frequent “Festival Tables” — Gerald blessed us in many many ways! Remember the sunny Colorado day when “little Jerry” sat on Uncle Bob’s lap and “drove” the huge Motorhome AFTER “little Jerry” had filled the MotorHome tank with gas from his little RED Gasoline PUMP! That was just the beginning of so many wonderful family memories! He always brought “JOY JOY JOY” to our hearts—big smile! Very BIG HEART! And remember “Little Jerry” on Grandma Shearer’s lap! My how she loved him! Now, Our Hearts are overwhelmingly sad for our loss but know that he is at the “Right Hand” of the Lord our Savior. We pray for his beautiful family during this tender time of overwhelming loss.
Jerry, we will miss you so much—especially during your favorite season, CHRISTMAS! We will recall your BIG Smile, your wonderful ‘full bodied’ laughter, and your “Heart of Gold!” We will continue to “see you” in our Hearts Forever!
Aunt Paula and all the “Allison” and “Cokingtin” families.

Our dear friends, our hearts grieve with and for you during this time of tragedy. Please remember Jesus words in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]
