Obituary
Jackie (Jack) H. Mudroch, 81, and Marcia G. Mudroch, 79, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on February 1, 2024 and February 4, 2024, respectively. Both had been fighting their own battle with Alzheimer’s/ dementia for several years.
Jack was born July 29, 1942 to Harold and Mary Alice Mudroch in Freetown, Indiana, and Marcia was born August 25, 1944 to Wayne and Alice Fuller in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Jack and Marcia met as teens in Amarillo, TX through their church youth group. Jack had recently graduated from Hereford High School, and Marcia would graduate a year later from Tascosa High School. They were married August 3, 1963 in Amarillo.
Jack began working for Montgomery Ward as a janitor in 1962 and worked for them until 1985 when the company closed its catalog division in Kansas City, MO. He was promoted many times over the years, and with most of those promotions came moves, his last being to Kansas City as a district manager. After leaving Montgomery Ward, he worked several years in the hospitality industry as a regional manager for Motel 6 and Best Western.
Marcia spent most of her working years as a bank teller. She began her banking career at Citizens Bank in Stillwater, OK. After moving to Lee’s Summit in 1979, she worked for Midland Bank. She retired from banking in Edmond, OK after working for several years at Liberty Bank.
Jack, Marcia and their three daughters were fortunate to move many times during their marriage. These moves provided them the opportunity to see much of the Midwest, and introduced them to many life-long friends. After retirement, they returned to the Kansas City area to “settle down”.
Family was always a focus for Jack and Marcia. Many vacations centered around traveling to see family members who lived out of state, or family coming into town to visit them. Regardless, the time was always filled with food, games and lots of laughter…Jack ALWAYS had a joke to share or a prank to play, and Marcia always whipped up a batch of hot fudge sundaes! They will be deeply missed.
Jack and Marcia are survived by daughters Laura (Lorenzo) Griffin of Lee’s Summit, Kim Mudroch (Vance Aldridge) of Purcell, OK, and Melissa (Brian) Gouldsmith-McCarty of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren Michael (Lauren) Griffin, Andrew (Alyx) Griffin, Brianna (Michael) Collier, Gregory Aldridge, Spencer (Jacque) Gouldsmith, Sydney Gouldsmith, and Samantha Gouldsmith; and great-grandchildren: Harrison, Palmer, Ayva, August, Abbott, Taten, Charlotte, and Evelyn.
Surviving siblings include: Alice Ann (Richard) Blanke, Jerry (Becky) Mudroch, Joe (Sally) Mudroch, Jim (Denise) Mudroch, Mary Ann (Rob) Pyle, and Michael Matthew (Charlene), and Judy Boaz.
Both are survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Jack and Marcia were preceded in death by Harold and Mary Alice Mudroch (Jack’s parents), Wayne and Alice Fuller (Marcia’s parents), George Matthew (Jack’s step-father), and David Fuller (Marcia’s brother).
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Jackie and I were buddy’s in Hereford. We were mischievous in school. VERY FOND MEMORIES.
Dear Laura, Kim, and Melissa your parents were such special people. I always enjoyed their laughter and welcoming spirit. Your whole family were such wonderful neighbors. I will always remember their laughs and smiling faces. Favorite memory was when your Dad made sure that my Dad’s cherry tree produced cherries overnight…😄 Please know you all and your families have been in our thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. 🙏❤️.
