Obituary

John Raymond Gately Jr. passed to a journey of peace on the morning of December 9, 2020. Born July 12, 1924 in the State of Washington, he spent his youth as a Rancher and a true cowboy.

John was a Veteran in the United States Army-Air Corp., and an expert Electrician, I.B.E.W Local 124. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion, VFW, and Forty and Eight Organization. With many great accomplishments and endeavors, he felt his greatest achievements were being a Husband of 60 years, a Father, a Grandfather, a Great- and Great-Great Grandfather.

John is survived by his four children, daughters: Carol Ann, and Nancy Lee, sons: J. Robert, and James Steven, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great-Grandson.

John R. Gately was loved by many with his positive charm and sincere warmth. His genuine smile and cheerful hello would make him a lifelong friend with most everyone.

Funeral and celebration of a life well-lived will preside Monday, December 14th, 2020, 2:00pm. Langford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St., Lee’s Summit, MO. Graveside Service to follow at Palestine Cemetery, Santa Fe Trail Road, Kansas City, MO 64138.

Limited Attendance, Masks and Social Distancing required.

Such a wonderful and jolly soul John is! We are all blessed to have him in our lives. He definitely made the world a better place. Now he will do the same up above. I’m sure Carmen is happy to see him! God Bless all of his Children, Grand Children and Great-Great Grandchildren. Love the Hansen Family

John brought smiles to everyone he touched. He loved his family more than a father or grandfather,or great great and great grandfather could. He truly was a great veteran and a believer in helping people in need. May he Rest In Peace beside his wife, he will be missed but alway in our hearts.
