Obituary

 

Lee Monroe White passed away January 26, 2021.  Lee was 92 years old.  He is survived by his wife Marjorie of 71 years, children Sharon Roberts (Alan), Mary Camper (Dave), Ken White (Bonnie), Kevin White (Debbie) and Kyle White (Katie).  He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Lee was born in Roach, Missouri.  He moved to the greater Kansas City area as a young man and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1947.  He displayed stellar skills of basketball, football, and track.  Lee retired from Kaw Transport at the age of 57.   Lee and Marjorie raised their family in Raytown, Lee’s Summit, and finally resided in Blue Springs before moving to John Knox Village. They were members of Community of Christ Church on Woods Chapel Road, Lee’s Summit, MO.  Lee was a devote family man.  He had an enduring passion of hunting and fishing.

Lee enjoyed time with family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Finis and Shirley White, brothers Everett White, and sister Veta White.  He will be greatly missed.

Memorial Service will be at 3:30 PM on Friday, February 19, 2021 with a visitation starting at 2:30 PM at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd, Lee’s Summit, MO. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Big Niangua Cemetery in Roach, MO.

Marjie… I am so sorry for your loss but so happy that you had 71 years with the love of your life. What I saw in his eyes was a kind and gentle soul and I will miss seeing both of you together in the narthex on Sunday mornings smiling and visiting with people before the service started. Lee will be missed but what a beautiful legacy of love he left your family.

Margie, you and Lee had such a wonderful life together. I thought you were such a handsome couple. I am so happy to have known you both.

Margie, I am sorry for the huge loss of your husband, father, & grandfather for you & your family. I sincerely hope & pray that through the love & care of your dear loved ones, this very difficult time will be a bit less difficult. You & Lee had 71plus years together, & that is so very wonderful and amazing.
