Obituary
Mary Ann Bachman, age 83 of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away September 2, 2021. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, September 10, 2021 at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit, MO. Visitation will be prior to service at 1:00 PM. Burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Mary Ann was born in Lee’s Summit and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1955 and completed Nursing school in 1958. After graduating nursing school, she went to work for Dr. Knight who was the same Doctor that delivered her as a baby. She worked at Lee’s Summit Clinic for many years then worked for Gopert Family Care in Baptist Memorial Hospital helping many doctors complete their Family Practice residency.
After retirement she and her husband, Bob Bachman, enjoyed driving their motorhome around the Midwest following the World of Outlaws sprint car racing series. If they were not out chasing a race they enjoyed attending the Grandchildren’s various sporting events. After Bob’s passing she enjoyed traveling with Her child hood friends Marge and Mary June. Retirement also included babysitting her Great Grandchildren, knitting, sewing and various craft projects that all of the family enjoyed as birthday and Christmas gifts. Those gifts will be greatly missed by all. Some of the things that will be missed will be the experimental food dishes she would prepare for holiday dinners and the homemade family birthday cards that always included the most embarrassing photos that she could find.
For several years she helped on the Lee’s Summit High School Alumni 50 year plus Class Reunion committee. She really enjoyed keeping up with her old friends from High School and making it a memorable event.
Mary Ann affected the lives of many different people in many different ways and will be deeply missed but she is now with her loving parent daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bachman; daughter, Deon Clewell and parents, Bruce and Ethel Winston.
Survivors include her two sons, Tom Lawson (Connie) and Kent Lawson (Katreena); stepchildren, Brett Bachman and Tammi Roberts; Brother, Robert (Barbara) Winston, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Mary Ann was the neighborhood mom. I know Kent, myself and Joe gave her a lot of grief when we were younger. Always there to lend an ear. Love you and I know Dee was waiting for you with open arms. Rest Easy! Kent and Tom we are thinking of you!
