love and many prayers, Loretta O’Connor.

So very sorry to read of Melba Fern’s passing; I remember her from church and her working at Dougan’s, and of course knew Steve and Mid all my life, and my late mother-in-law, Leona Eula “Toots” Acklin Bond, was one of Mid’s first cousins. [We also were neighbors to McNeills when I was a child.] Melba Fern always had a grin and said hello to me, and as I was not yet in school, I always thought that she was pretty special because of that! We’re never ready to lose our parents, even when they’re ready to go forward to a better place, but I pray that you all will find comfort in your memories of her, and peace in the love you share with her in the days and weeks to come.
