Obituary

Michael (Mike) Eugene Hood age 71 died on April 28 at St. Luke’s East Hospital. Michael was born on January 30, 1953 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City MO. He graduated from Northeast High School and earned a Bachelors Degree in Art from UMKC. He had multiple jobs including positions Production Planner at Allis Chalmers, MARC, Tax Examiner at the IRS, and Customer Service/Delivery Driver at the Kansas City Star and Walker Uniform.
He met the love of his life, Lucy at jury duty and they shared 38 years of marriage. He was a loving and devoted husband.
Mike enjoyed hunting for antiques, refinishing old furniture especially steamer trunks. He had a sharp eye for decorating and was very meticulous in matting old prints and photographs. He spent many hours hunting for bargain and had fun going to auctions. His keen sense of humor brightened the days of others even during his last few days of life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lester Hood Sr, His mother Barbara Jones Hood and his brother Lester Hood, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Hood, nephews Jonathan Andrews, Charles Chamberlin, Richard Chamberlin, and Andrew Chamberlin, and nieces Catherine Chamberlin, Paula Phelps, and Rosalie Watson.
Celebration of Life Event and Internment are pending. Lucy will forward this information as it becomes available.

So sorry Lucy for your loss Its hard to loose our partner of so many years. We will have to get together for a long visit, before Summer is gone. hugs and kisses Gayle Angie Billy and fur babies.
