In Memory of

Robert Edward Glover

July 28, 1938 - May 18, 2023

Pastor Glover went to be his Lord, Thursday May 18,2023.   Loving husband, father of 4 boys and grandfather of 6 grandchildren.

Robert “Bob” was born July 28, 1938, in Bunker Hill, Illinois to Frank and Nellie Glover.  Upon graduating high school in Alton, Illinois, he recognized a call to ministry, and attended Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, New York.  He took his first and only pastorate at Ridgewood Baptist Church 43rd & Blue Ridge in 1960.  In August of 1965, the church purchased the property in Lee’s Summit at the corner of 3rd Street and Johnson. It was during this move, the church changed its name to Faith Baptist.  As the church continued growing, it moved to its current location on Langsford Road in 1975.  After faithfully serving his Lord and church family for 48 years, Pastor Glover retired in 2008.  His life evolved around serving the Lord and church-related activities.  He was instrumental in the foundation of Amazing Grace Baptist Camp and in orchestrating the Faith Promise missions program.  He enjoyed gathering with his fellow pastors every Monday morning for prayer.  His favorite hobbies include fishing with his family, riding his bicycle and swimming.

He is preceded in death by his parents and big sister Jessie Glover Wilson.  He is survived by his older brother Siegel and wife Donna, his sister Brenda, and sister Verla and husband Jim.

He is survived by the love of his life Linda Sue after 54 years of marriage.  He is survived by his sons and their families: Steve & Amy, daughter Ruth, Dan & Jill, son’s Brooks & Lucas, Micah & Beth, son Wyatt, Matt & Stacy, son River, daughter Lakely.

Visitation to be held Wednesday, May 24th from 10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Both to be held at Faith Baptist Church 1460 E Langsford Road, Lee’s Summit 64063.  Burial at 1:30 p.m. Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

To Bob’s family,
I remember with much fondness Bob in the early years. My dad, Floyd Durham, considered Bob a friend and young Pastor that needed a close friend to come along side for prayer and when needed, a confidant.
Bob often showed up at our house just to sit and share with dad concerning the ‘work of the ministry’ as well as enjoy some of my moms homemade cooking.
Bob was considered an adopted son of the Durham family and we join the family in its feeling of loss.
We are blessed to know that, with the family of God, the loss on earth is temporary because our roots are in glory where we will one day be forever joined with our Lord and the ones that have gone before.
May God’s comfort and peace bring you joy in your remembrances.

Praying for GOD’s Grace for Pastor Glover’s Family, Church members, friends & other loved ones. He was a dear brother in CHRIST, & a godly man with a servant’s heart. Although we grieve, we also rejoice that he is now Home with his Heavenly Father. Looking forward to that Grand Reunion !!!

We are sadden to learn of Pastor Glover’s home going. We enjoyed his ministry as church members and friends.

I am so sorry I missed the service yesterday. I had something I had to tend to at the house that took all day and I didn’t see the announcement. Pastor Glover will always be remembered as a devoted man of God and I know he is rejoicing in Him right now. Love and blessings to you and the Glover family.

I just learned today of pastor Bob’s funeral, so sorry for the loss. I remember so many things through the years that related to pastor Bob and your family, what blessed memories they are. May God comfort you and the boys, my prayers are with you. Love, Debbie
