Obituary
Thomas (Tom) William Thomas, 74, of Aldrich, Missouri, loving husband, loving father, son, brother, loving grandfather, uncle, great uncle and cousin and friend to many. He went to his eternal home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 22, 2024, at The University of Kansas Medical Center.
Tom was born on March 21, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas, where he also spent his childhood years.
His parents were Anna Marie (Annie) Thomas and George Harold Thomas.
Thomas was brought up Catholic and has always had a strong love for the lord.
Thomas was a Vietnam Veteran, that served as a heavy machine mechanic from 1967 to 1970.
He married the love of his life, Debbie, April 19th, 1969.
After returning home from serving his country, he used his mechanical skills at Dean Machinery, and Metro Body Shop.
Tom played Tenor sax and sang in the Thomas family band with his parents, and brothers.
He enjoyed singing karaoke, fishing, boating, fixing things, and just being outside with friends and family. Music was always part of any gathering, and if there was a bonfire that just made it better.
Tom and Debbie retired “to the lake” in 2014, becoming residents of an area they loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Harold Thomas March 5, 2006. His brother Michael (Mike) J. Thomas followed him home on March 2nd, 2024.
Survived by, wife Deborah Thomas (Aldrich Mo.) mother, Anna Marie Thomas of Destin FL., brother, Danny (Nancy) Thomas of Destin FL., daughter, Monica (Rick) Hartpence of Lee’s Summit Mo. daughter Jennifer (Danny) Cummings of Kansas City, Mo.
3- grandchildren, Dustin L. Cummings (age 22), Hunter D. McMullen (age 18) and Alexandria R. Hartpence (age 22)
A celebration of life will be held Thursday March 21st at 4pm.

Debbie, Jennifer, Monica! What a great man he was, without doubt, the best of the best and there’s no one like him today we in the world, lost a great man, as he will always be loved by many I wish they made more men like him. He’s always been in my thoughts and always will be. He helped me a lot, and was always good to me. Jimbo
I wanted to mention this because it meant a lot to me. Early 2000s I was in a bad motorcycle accident and Tom and Debbie thought enough to come and visit me in the hospital that meant the world to me.. were great people, and a good man he was
Always loved hanging out with Tom. I’ll never forget his laugh, we certainly shared a bunch of them. My condolences to the family. Tom will be sorely missed!
